With patience, chinchillas will sit on your hand and allow gentle petting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chinchillas are a <strong>long-term commitment<\/strong>, as they can live <strong>15\u201320 years<\/strong> with proper care and love. They communicate frequently using chirps, squeaks, and barking-like sounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chinchillas are herbivores.
