It\u2019s the same for us. Every product is made <strong data-start=\"228\" data-end=\"274\">as if I were making it for our own animals<\/strong>. In fact, any DonCha item could go straight to one of our pets. That already says a lot, doesn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"379\" data-end=\"723\">Each item is <strong data-start=\"392\" data-end=\"402\">unique<\/strong>, made with dedicated time and care. I carefully inspect every product and sew with <strong data-start=\"486\" data-end=\"513\">small, precise stitches<\/strong>, minimizing the chance that little claws could get caught. I also avoid visible external seams wherever possible, reducing the risk of injury. Because of this, many of our items are <strong data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"720\">usable on both sides<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"879\">However, I cannot guarantee <strong data-start=\"753\" data-end=\"768\">100% safety<\/strong>. In reality, no product can. Which furniture you buy and how your pets use it is entirely <strong data-start=\"859\" data-end=\"876\">your decision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"1008\"><strong data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"924\">Who is the furniture suitable for?<\/strong><br data-start=\"924\" data-end=\"927\">Most of the furniture is designed for <strong data-start=\"965\" data-end=\"976\">rodents<\/strong>. DonCha creates products for:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1009\" data-end=\"1152\">\n<li data-start=\"1009\" data-end=\"1026\">\n<p data-start=\"1011\" data-end=\"1026\">Sugar gliders<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1027\" data-end=\"1054\">\n<p data-start=\"1029\" data-end=\"1054\">African pygmy hedgehogs<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1055\" data-end=\"1093\">\n<p data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1093\">Rats, degus, hamsters, guinea pigs<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1094\" data-end=\"1152\">\n<p data-start=\"1096\" data-end=\"1152\">Chinchillas, ferrets, rabbits<br data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1128\">\u2026and other small pets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1154\" data-end=\"1276\">Some items are also suitable for <strong data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1209\">small wild animals<\/strong>, for those of you who care for hedgehogs, squirrels, birds, etc.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1278\" data-end=\"1417\">Be mindful of materials and <strong data-start=\"1306\" data-end=\"1330\">ask if you\u2019re unsure<\/strong>. For example, chinchillas should only have fleece on the outside of their furniture.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1424\" data-end=\"1724\"><strong data-start=\"1424\" data-end=\"1459\">Can they chew wooden furniture?<\/strong><br data-start=\"1459\" data-end=\"1462\">Before starting DonCha, I did a lot of research. Of course, I didn\u2019t \u201creinvent the wheel\u201d (read: wooden furniture for rodents). I reviewed materials that have already been tested in Austria, Germany, and the USA, where people work with animals in the same way.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1726\" data-end=\"1854\">Our wooden products are made from <strong data-start=\"1760\" data-end=\"1776\">solid spruce<\/strong>. They are <strong data-start=\"1787\" data-end=\"1851\">not painted, coated, or impregnated with protective finishes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1856\" data-end=\"2025\">I also use every product and material with my <strong data-start=\"1902\" data-end=\"1917\">own animals<\/strong> (for over four years now). This is very important to me\u2014I wouldn\u2019t make anything that could harm animals.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2027\" data-end=\"2324\">However, <strong data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2077\">wooden furniture is not meant as food<\/strong> and is not intended for chewing. It is designed as \u201cfurniture.\u201d Of course, rodents may explore new items in their space. From experience, they may nibble a little, but usually <strong data-start=\"2254\" data-end=\"2280\">they aren\u2019t interested<\/strong> (probably because it doesn\u2019t taste good).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2326\" data-end=\"2405\">So while the wood is <strong data-start=\"2347\" data-end=\"2379\">not harmful in small amounts<\/strong>, it isn\u2019t tasty either.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2407\" data-end=\"2674\">If you notice that your pet is <strong data-start=\"2438\" data-end=\"2469\">actively destroying a piece<\/strong> (e.g., eating half a stand), it could indicate a dietary or social deficiency, and you should remove the item. I would do the same. Minor scratches could also occur, for example with a naked guinea pig.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2676\" data-end=\"2751\">In almost four years of DonCha, we have <strong data-start=\"2716\" data-end=\"2748\">never had a serious incident<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2758\" data-end=\"2782\"><strong data-start=\"2758\" data-end=\"2780\">Tips for Safe Use:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2783\" data-end=\"3146\">\n<li data-start=\"2783\" data-end=\"2883\">\n<p data-start=\"2785\" data-end=\"2883\">Consider your pet\u2019s <strong data-start=\"2805\" data-end=\"2827\">size and abilities<\/strong> (this affects where and how high you place the item).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2884\" data-end=\"2966\">\n<p data-start=\"2886\" data-end=\"2966\">Know your pet\u2019s habits, species, and tendency to chew. You know your pet best.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2967\" data-end=\"3061\">\n<p data-start=\"2969\" data-end=\"3061\">Inspect furniture daily and <strong data-start=\"2997\" data-end=\"3031\">repair or remove damaged items<\/strong> to ensure continued safety.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3062\" data-end=\"3146\">\n<p data-start=\"3064\" data-end=\"3146\">Keep hygiene in mind.
